A blogroll on our efforts to create an 8 min (OPEN MOVIE) animation short on the absolutely free Animux pipeline.

As our effort to take something to Siggraph 2009, we have plan to do a preview of our 8 minute animation short. We have 3 weeks to go, can we do it?

So the team has come together to brain storm a concept for the preview. We had almost full attendance to our discussions in the animux chatroom on freenode. We plan to post the chat logs from these discussions for you to follow.

With having a global team, IRC chatrooms have proven to be an invaluable tool for communication. It also helps out with logging the minutes of the meetings, without having to retype them down. Also, there are yet no services, that we are aware of that can do a global teleconference other than skype. Dev is looking into that aspect of communication.

One of the first things we did was to ask the team to give us contact info and for the most convenient time slots in their timezone from their busy day to set up a meeting. We set up a team clock at http://www.timeanddate.com/. This way the entire team, knew what time it was for someone on the team and if they were available to talk to each other. For now, it seems to work well. Let’s see if it is sustainable.

Daniel Lima, came up with a rough time-line to complete the project. It is very aggressive, but like they say, “nothing ventured nothing gained”.
